Guide to the English countryside, bucolic beats, and a non-recipe recipe
Sprinkle my ashes in the English countryside. Save some for the Italian seaside, but a big heaping scoop can definitely be scattered in the Cotswolds. «dark British humor is starting to seep in».
It is a beautiful idyllic place with lush green rolling hills and rampant wild flowers (think red corn poppies, cow parsley, fields of bright yellow rapeseed in full bloom), absolutely oozing charm with every cottage, pub, church and meadow, all to the soundtrack of chirping birds, baahs, moos, and cock-a-doodle-doos, etc. It offers a casual yet sophisticated setting, which never fails to reset the old nervous system before heading back into London.
After my second trip in two months, with the third upcoming, I figured it would be a good time to share some intel in case you’re planning a trip here this summer.
