I’ve officially been in Paris two weeks. You know you really love a city when it’s sub 30 degrees, pouring rain, windy (insert visual of inverted umbrella), and there is still a smile on your face.

L’hôtel

I’ve also found my new morning routine writing + coffee spot. I’ve traded Santa Monica Proper’s big leather couches and fluffy cappuccinos for burgundy velvet armchairs and short espressos (and spectacular crown molding). Although, yesterday I ordered a macchiato, which in France is evidently just a hot milk smoothie. Noted.

First order of business since arriving has been securing my new home. As I’m sure you know, apartment hunting in major cities is a sport, and apartment hunting in a foreign country requires an advanced level of athleticism. While it’s been great fun to explore new neighborhoods and see beautiful spaces, I am eager to settle down in my permanent spot. I have a big fat crush on an apartment I toured on day 2 of the search, so crossing fingers, toes, and baguettes it is soon mine <3.

I am so grateful that Paris already feels like home. Taking big leaps can be terrifying, but sure enough, in time, everything starts to make sense and feel right. Just trust your gut and follow the “signs”. I saw a TikTok about how the universe leaves us a breadcrumb trail, and I couldn’t agree more.

Below are all my new, but also tried and true, favorite finds in Paris. If you’re planning a trip in the near or distant future, bookmark away. I would also be happy to help book any hotels, restaurants, etc. And, of course, give me a shout when you are in town!
