I’ll just say it. Summer weather has been a bit drab in the UK so far. I’m rolling my eyes even typing this, as I was that bushy tailed bright eyed gal reassuring everyone that I’m a rare weather-chameleon that can adapt to any climate with thick skin and a cheery unbothered disposition.

Everyone: “London’s an incredible city, but aren’t you worried about the grey skies and constant unpredictability of precipitation?”

Me: “Couldn’t be me!!! Grey skies are cozy!”

Turns out, unfortunately, my inspiration to cook with summer produce is directly linked to warm sunny skies. Instead of crudos and carpaccios, beautiful salads with sweet tomatoes, fruit bowls of melon and stonefruit, I’m craving fuckin’ soup and a hot toddy.
